RANA Code Of Conduct The objectives of RANA Frog Group Inc are to protect local native frogs and their habitats, to educate the community about frogs and to raise money for education and research into the decline of our native frog species. To ensure that these objectives are met RANA has formulated the following rules and code of conduct to be observed by members. Laws vary from state to state and it is the individual member's responsibility to ensure that they follow the requirements pertaining to their own state. |

1. Members will not subject any native frogs, their tadpoles or eggs or indeed any other animal to cruel treatment. Unnecessary handling of frogs, their tadpoles or eggs is to be avoided. 2. Native frogs, their eggs or their tadpoles are not to be removed from any National Parks or Nature Reserves. 3. Native frogs, tadpoles or eggs will not be exploited for financial/commercial gain. 4. Native frogs, their eggs or tadpoles are not to be removed from any waterway except where through imminent evaporation or drainage the survival of the eggs, tadpoles or frogs is unlikely. 5. Native frogs should not be kept in any enclosure or in captivity. Exception will be made for short periods of captivity (within state guidelines) for education and/or display purposes. Endangered or protected species are not to be kept under any circumstances. 6. Native frogs, their tadpoles or their eggs are not to be knowingly introduced into any area outside the species' documented geographic range or into any environment which does not meet their needs or ensure their survival. 7. Members will not release any weed or fish (native or otherwise) into local waterways. 8. In areas where it is deemed necessary members should ensure that local council by-laws are observed in relation to mosquito control. Members acknowledge that, in accordance with the rules of RANA Frog Group Inc, If a member is convicted of a breach of the Queensland Conservation Act 1992 (Code of Practice) or Nature Conservation Regulation 1994 or its equivalent in any state or territory of Australia or If a member is involved in any activity which the management committee considers to be injurious or prejudicial to the character or interests of the Group the membership of the aforesaid member/s may be terminated. Advice of termination of membership will be in writing. |
