Reproduction: Like I said back there, this frog seems to appear out of nowhere only after prolonged heavy rain. The frogs can be heard calling as they move from the trees towards the breeding pools. In a suburban setting these frogs are very noisy but only really call and lay about 6 times a year in the warmer months of september through to march. The male moves around as he calls, attracting the females and then she carries him to water where she lays her eggs and he fertilises them. These frogs usually lay early in the morning and it is nothing unusual to still find the odd one or two still "at it” the next morning. Once this frog is in "breed mode” nothing seems to disturb it.
A word of warning though. When this frog is in "breed mode" dont leave the doors or windows open. We actually had a member that found herself with a very alive "fridge magnet”.
