Reproduction: Common Green Tree Frogs breed in the warmer months of the year from September through to March. The ingredients for perfect breeding conditions are temperature over 25 degrees celsius, high humidity, low barometric pressure (1015 or less) and the main ingredient, rain. The male calls from near a pond or pool (only the male calls) attracting a female. The male hops on top of the female (called amplexus) and the female carries him to water. The female then lays her eggs (spawn) which the male fertilises. The spawn is a clear jelly mat containing brown eggs approximately 1.5 millimeters in size which will float on the surface of the water and gradually sink as the eggs hatch.
