Description: The Striped Marsh Frog is a ground frog. It is a brown colour with dark stripes running down its back. There is usually a lighter stripe running straight down the centre of its back but this may not always be noticable. The underside of both the male and female is white, though the males have a yellow and brown mottling on their throats. The iris is golden above and brown below. Most people would know if they had these frogs because of the loud "tok" call, which when made by a single male sounds a bit like a tennis ball being bounced, but when made by a colony of Stiped Marsh Frog males, sounds like Chinese New Year.
